In a continuously operating plating plant (here for printed circuit boards), one should ideally carry out continuous analysis of all critical bath components. Unfortunately, suitable analytical techniques do not in every case exist for this. Instead, a mathematical model has been developed which sums additions of a given species to the bath and also losses, e.g by drag-out.
