Novel additive for a hot-dip galvanising zinc or zinc alloy bath. It is pre-prepared nickel powder and flux (optionally also with flammable material) for such both doping. The form of the additive can be as loose powders, a cake involving a flammable binder or a package where the surround is a flammable polymer.

Galvanized steel sheet which is excellent in sliding properties during press molding. An oxide layer having a crystalline 3Zn(OH)2.ZnSO4.xH2O is formed on the plating surface, and the oxide layer has a thickness of not less than 10 nm. Specifically, the crystalline oxide layer is composed of 3Zn(OH)2.ZnSO4.3-5H2O.
