Galvannealed steel sheet for automobiles has tensile strength of =340 MPa, paint bake harden ability of =10MPa, and excellent resistance to powering when press-formed and to chipping. Steel contains (%) C 0.004-0.008, Si 2.5xP -0.2, Mn 0.1-0.4, P 0.017-0. 045, sol. Al 0.003-0.08, Ti0.002-0.015, Nb 0.01-0.03 (Ti + Nb = 0.012-0.035. Sheet is galvanised, heated up to Fe-Zn alloying temp. at =20C° and cooled at =10C°/s.
