JES Cyclic voltammetry, galvanostatic pulse & pulse reverse techniques were used to study effect of rotation rate (RDE) & electrochemical parameters as well as hydrogen evolution, limiting current, effect of saccharin & boric acid. SEM's show deposit surface. Bath was sulphate based. Use of org. addition agents can reduce included Ni hydroxide in deposit. A modified bath comp'n is proposed & means of controlling, e.g grain size,are offered. 22 refs.
