Description of new method in which, e.g gold wire is brought close to tungsten filament and atomised in a vacuum. A jet of inert gas then forces these atoms down onto substrate. Jet-Electrodeposition of Bulk Nanocrystalline Cobalt -Nickel Alloy

Relevancy:  

The effects of the process parameters on the composition and microstructure of bulk nanocrystalline Co-Ni alloy deposit prepared by jet-electrodeposition are studied with SEM, EDS and XRD. The results show as the electrolyte flow speed goes up, the cobalt content in the deposit increases, but the grain size decreases under the conditions of this experiment. With the increase of the electrolyte temperature, the cobalt content in the deposit increases to a certain value then decreases while the grain size decreases to a certain value then increases while the grain size shows a reversed tendency. The morphology of the deposit takes on a cellular structure.

Jig and Method and Apparatus of Applying a Surface Treatment to a Member on the Jig

A jig is provided for holding an elongate member to be surface treated. The jig comprises a beam and a plurality of hangers spaced apart along the beam. The hangers have supports with retaining springs thereon which are arranged to support and grip the elongate member. The beam has hook-like members for engagement with a lifting bar of a crane . The crane is used to transport the jig to an anodising station and subsequently to transport the jig still with the anodised elongate member thereon to a painting station. In that way, an elongate member to be surface treated can be manually placed on the respective supports and held in place by the retaining springs without having to use other forms of clamp.
