Title process used Pd-based metallo-organic film, applied in the same way as conventional resists. This is masked, illuminated and then subjected to electroless plating (e.g copper). Details are given of pre-treatment of polyetherimides and liquid crystal polymers. The u.v vis spectrum of the Pd acetate film is shown and SEM photos show tracks before and after Cu deposition. The effects of laser energies & Pd film densities are plotted. The process competes with and complements thick film and conventional p.c.b (additive, subtractive) technologies.

SURF Structural features of title coating were examined using Cu electroplating technique. Coating has typical layer structure similar to coatings deposited by other thermal spraying processes. Despite having highest particle velocity of thermal spraying processes, lamellar bonding at interfaces between flattened particles in detonation gun sprayed alumina coatings is very poor. Mean bonding ratio of bonded interface area to apparent bonding interface for typical detonation gun Alumina coating is c. 10%, < value for typical plasma-sprayed alumina coating. However, high particle velocity results in formation of rough surface on spray splat, effective in enhancing interlocking between flattened particles.
