X-ray fluorescence studies of the interactions of modified polypropylene & anodised aluminium

PROT Polypropylene, modified with polyamine oligomer, was used as coating on Al strip. It was found that as a result of heat treatment at 230°C, polymer breakdown products including nitrogen- and oxygen-containing functional groups, reacted with anodised layer to form an adsorbed film. The nature and composition of this, as function of heating time was studied. The adsorbed layer can affect adhesion & corrosion resistance.
